Dear sweet Triune God, from within my heart,
please guide my day.
Help my eyes to see you – everywhere I crease a veil – or
as I amble my way to a bench for resting weary bones
and contemplating your astonishing graces.
Help my mind to trust you more today than
yesterday.
If you have for me a chore,
a task, or anything,
please grace me with the willingness and ability to
eagerly assist. As Samuel was
when in Eli’s care.
Please, Father, aid all those who lay heavy upon
my heart.
Sustain them,
bless them,
and bring them safely home tonight.
No matter if they ride by
horse,
train,
car,
or even if they walk on foot.
(Or in a carriage drawn by horses, taking them from
star to star).
Make sanguine all their hearts.
And warm their incline toward your Son.
Make life for them a
little better
and twice secured.
And remove our elfin ways in
favor of a disposition fair.
And I thank you loving Father for all
your blessings. Especially those
that come disguised.
Open wide our eyes
and whateven wider our congested ears.
So that we hear your Good News afresh in
the trees rustling fair and everywhere.
Please hurry our souls to a
penchant wise.
And remind us to stand tall
when our “redemption is nigh.”
In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost.
Amen
and those in their charge
