i see a tricycle
it’s red, with silver chrome sparkling and the tires are black
ya might say it’s a bit tricked out
oh, the seat
it’s white
i think it’s my little sister’s whip
i’m already riding on the Western Flyer’s two-wheeler
also red
there’s so much concrete everywhere
and the blacktop roads
it’s summer and the lawns are bright green with
dandelions here and there
Ray is out front of his dad’s home fixin’ his Alpine
Ray is always tinkering with that machine
if i peer on down the street to the south i
can see the school
it’s kinda beat up these days
the Church is across the parking lot of
the school
both are just a half block away
and it’s where i met Jesus
years later i had a monster rush of the Holy Spirit
my friend calls it the first bump
I’ve never experienced anything quite like it
people call it many things
justification
sanctification
the atonement winds
etc
i just move ahead
knowing that Iesu is my friend
(at my late age, i’ve discovered fasting. just small penances)
my friend told me he woke up in
the early hours of morning’s start with
an itchy head
his dream had been about Jesus/Iesu
and Iesu couldn’t itch the dried blood on His body
during his time on the cross
it’s a funny yet awesomely true thought
the Resurrection is our common hope
our common faith
and love has a whole lot to do with it
i should think that eternal life may just be like
rock mountain candy
eat all ya want
there’s no such thing as getting obese
so
get with the program or
sit pretty with yours
that way you’ll never have to know the taste of that
living agua
and the bread
the superessential bread
like manna dropping from heaven

Doris?
Right here, Honey.
Just being sure.
Where ever would I go, Harry?
