the awkish pear fell wildly
by the dog’s face
and the dog (like the sun)
turned yellow
and barked
and the people at the bar
kept drinking
and i walked to my apartment
to watch television
do laundry
write poems
watch the yellow dog
bark at the noonday sun
jesus
things are weird
like a bright pinwheel
and orange cotton candy
and guess my weight
and bob barker
and the tender little roses
and sea-green fallen fruit
and all the sallow people
smoking rolled tobacco or pipes
drooling
as they wait for the morning ride
